Antibes: Between History and Modernity

Founded by the Greeks of Marseille under the name of Antipolis around 350 BC, Antibes has always been a strategic Mediterranean point. The city successively belonged to the Romans, to the counts of Provence, before becoming definitively French. Cap d'Antibes, long an agricultural land, became a vacation spot for international elites in the 19th century. The Picasso Museum, installed in the former Grimaldi castle, testifies to the artistic appeal of the region which inspired numerous painters in the 20th century.

With its sumptuous villas and preserved coves, Cap d'Antibes offers exceptional Mediterranean landscapes. The marina, one of the largest in Europe, symbolizes the modern and nautical side of the city.
